Visitors to the Biltmore Estate can tour this magnificent mansion, America’s largest home, as well as the estate gardens and winery.
Commissioned by George Vanderbilt in the late 1800s, it took hundreds of artisans over six years to complete the Biltmore House, an Asheville, North Carolina attraction which is visited by approximately 900,000 visitors from all over the world every year.
Biltmore Village is a planned community, built in the late 1890’s at the foot of the entrance to Biltmore Mansion. It was designed initially to be the residential prelude to the Estate recreating a quaint English atmosphere. All the streets are laid out in a fan shape creating sight lines from the village to the church, All Soul’s Crescent, and also The Biltmore Estate.
This idyllic village located adjacent to The Biltmore Estates is a favorite shopping site for visitors and residents alike. The streets are lined with trees, the sidewalks are done in brick, and the architecture is nothing short of a delight to the eyes. Many of the shops even have window boxes on their fronts delighting your senses before you enter to inspect their wares. The Biltmore Village is home to 30 unique shops as well as cafés, coffee shops and restaurants.
Village merchants delight in featuring unique goods. All age groups are well represented with wonderful fare for children in the form of beautiful dolls, unique toys and games. Women can decorate their homes or adorn themselves in clothes or jewelry and of course, gadgets for the guys.
